Welcome to the SwimTayka English Channel Swimmer Portal
Welcome to the SwimTayka English Channel community.
This portal is here to support you through every stage of your journey - from your first cold-water swim through to standing on the beach in Dover ready to swim the English Channel.
Whether you are part of a relay team or preparing for a solo swim, this is your central place for training information, weekend updates, documents, fundraising support, event details, guidance, and team communication.
The English Channel is far more than a swim. It is months of preparation, early mornings, difficult sessions, friendships, setbacks, laughter, nerves, and moments you will remember for the rest of your life. Very few people truly understand what this journey feels like until they begin it themselves. That is why the SwimTayka community matters so much.
Inside the portal you will find:
- Training weekend information and schedules
- Dover swim guidance and safety updates
- Boat and crew information
- Team details and swimmer lists
- Fundraising resources and ideas
- Assessment swim guidance
- Kit lists and preparation advice
- Important forms and documentation
- SwimTayka news and announcements
- Support from mentors, coaches and experienced swimmers
Important Reminder
Your Channel journey is not just about reaching France.
The training, preparation, teamwork, resilience, and friendships built along the way are just as important as the swim itself. Support each other, communicate openly, and enjoy the experience together.
Dover Training Weekends
The Dover weekends are designed to help swimmers:
- Build cold-water confidence
- Practise relay changeovers
- Experience night swimming
- Learn boat procedures
- Meet other swimmers and crews
- Develop confidence in the sea and harbour environment
These weekends are often where teams truly come together.
Fundraising and Purpose
Every SwimTayka swimmer helps support our wider mission to improve access to swimming, water safety education, and drowning prevention projects around the world.
Thank you for being part of that mission.

If you are unsure about anything - training, paperwork, fundraising, equipment, travel, or simply how you are feeling about the journey - please ask. The SwimTayka team and community are here to help.
